70-yr-old arrested for smuggling cow dies

A 70-year-old under-trial prisoner, who was arrested for allegedly smuggling cow, died in hospital, police said on Monday.

According to Superintendent Rakesh Singh, Balbir Singh was admitted to hospital after suffering from illness.

However, his family had claimed that Singh was implicated in a false case of carrying cows last month whereas he was taking them for agriculture purposes.

Investigation is on, the officer said.
