Fake cop arrested in Patna ahead of PM's visit

A man in a police officer's uniform has been arrested from Patna airport today even as PM Narendra Modi is in the city to attend the Prakash Utsav celebrations to mark the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.

According to police officials, the man wearing and IPS officer's uniform came under suspicion when he was observed giving instructions for nearly 15 minutes to some policemen on duty.

Patna senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj told Rediff.com that the man has been arrested."Police have been interrogating him," he said and added that the security measures were in place ahead of the PM's visit.  

The PM paid his respects at Patna Sahib at the makeshift Gurudwara in the tent city in Gandhi Maidan where the main function is underway.

The PM also released a postage stamp of Guru Gobind Singh and will take part in the langar before returning to Delhi.
