Karnataka home minister reacts to the reports of women being molested and insulted New Year's eve. "Bengaluru is a safe city, this is just an incident on new year. We need to understand the culture of celebration and how to do it. But we cannot have 10,000 policemen deployed on the streets, there were 1500 on the streets anyway.

Bengaluru moved into 2017 with horrific incidents of molestation marring its New Years eve celebrations. According to a Bangalore Mirror report, the citys most bustling areas of MG Road and Brigade road saw thousands of men mobbing the revellers, and groping and trash talking the women in the streets on Saturday night even as a large number of policemen were deployed in the area.
