5 dead after plane crashes into shopping mall in Melbourne

A charter plane has crashed into a shopping centre next to Melbourne's Essendon Airport.

Five people were on board the Beechcraft charter plane to King Island, near Tasmania.

The plane was reportedly chartered to fly five golfers to King Island. They were due to arrive on Tuesday morning. Seven News is reporting the pilot was experienced and aged in his 60s. The four tourists were reportedly visiting from the US.

Nobody on board survived the crash.
