Attorney general Mukul Rohatgi has advised Tamil Nadu governor to hold composite floor test in the Assembly pitting O Paneerselvam against Sasikala to test who commands majority.

The attorney general has suggested that a special session of Assembly be summoned by him in a week for testing the support enjoyed by Paneerselvam and Sasikala.

Mukul Rohatgi has cited the precedent of composite floor test between Jagadmabika Pal and Kalyan Singh in UP assembly in 1990s to support his suggestion for Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is likely to pronounce its judgment in the disproportionate assets case against Sasikala on Tuesday
