Finance minister Arun Jaitley reaches Parliament

Shiv Sena calls for postponing the budget by a day.

Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan to visit E Ahamed's residence at 10 am today.

The decision on whether the Budget will be held, and reports say it will not be postponed, rests with the Speaker.

Uncertainty over the Budget presentation persisted as many speculated that it would be deferred by a day owing to the demise of former Union minister E Ahamed.

Since Ahamed was a Lok Sabha MP, even if the lower house is adjourned the Budget cane be read in the Upper House.
