Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar, now famous for his 'neech' remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, refused to respond to a question on the Gujarat elections asked by an ANI reporter.

Aiyar, who was at an event in Kolkata, refused to acknowledge the reporter and continued reading his newspaper even after the question was repeated.

Amidst the mudslinging between Congress and BJP leaders during Gujarat election campaigning, the senior leader made headlines when he called the prime minister a 'neech aadmi'. He later issued a clarification in this regard, citing what he had intended to say was lost in translation. -- ANI
