Chandigarh stalking: Accused to be presented in court tomorrow

The DGP said there was no political pressure on the police and they were doing everything professionally and objectively. "Attempt to abduction, two sections 365 and 511 have been added. Both the accused will be produced before the court tomorrow. A detailed interrogation of both accused was conducted. Both the accused will be presented in court tomorrow for police custody to be granted. The DGP said reconstruction of the crime scene will be done, statement of witnesses (the police who attended Varnika Kundu's call), CCTV recordings will be evaluated, along with a map of the route.


Vikas and his friend Ashish have been booked under sections 354 D (stalking), 341 of IPC (punishment for wrongful restraint) and also section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act (driving by a drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs). Both were earlier arrested for allegedly stalking the 29 -year-old woman but were released on bail subsequently.
