UPDATE: Security forces kill top LeT commander in encounter in J-K

An encounter has broken out between terrorists and security forces in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, police said.

Acting on specific intelligence input about the presence of terrorists in Hakripora village of Pulwama, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area, a police official said.

The terrorists opened fired during the operation, prompting retaliation from the forces which triggered a gunbattle, he said.

According to reports, LeT chief Abu Dujana and another terrorist has died in the encounter, which is in progress.
