Mumbai Metro operations disrupted after man commits suicide

A 25-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a Metro train at Mumbai's Sakinaka station on Sunday, police said. 

Due to the incident, the Metro train services were disrupted for over an hour. 

The victim, identified as Ganeshchandra Prasad, hailing from Madhubani district in Bihar, ended his life by jumping in front of the Ghatkopar-bound Metro train at Sakinaka station at around 9.20 am, they said.  

Following the incident, the train was evacuated and retracted from service, a Mumbai Metro spokesperson said. 

The Metro train services were disrupted for over an hour following the incident, he said. 

 The services resumed at around 10.45 am, he added.
