For the past few months, there have been rumours swirling that indie band Coldplay, headed by Chris Martin, will be performing in India.

According to a report in mid-day, the British band will be performing in Mumbai at the BKC grounds on November 19 as part of the Global Citizen Festival run by Chris Martin.

With that news Twitter erupted with glee, but soon that joy turned to shock when the report further stated that the tickets for the event would start from Rs 25,000 to the highest category tickets at Rs 5 lakh a ticket."

Soon, #Coldplay started trending with users commenting on the price of the tickets.

One @nachito_kale wrote, "I'll pay 25 k for #coldplay concert if Chris Martin promises to sing " Tum To Thehre Pardesi ", the whole 14 minute version."

Another wrote, "Thankfully, I have some savings that I can use for the Coldplay concert. Just need Rs 24,500 more."

And here's another one, "Looks like Coldplay is selling tickets at South Mumbai per sq. ft rate."

"I think the only people who can afford tickets to Coldplay India are Kapil Sharma and the BMC," wrote another.

The 'Fix you' band recently performed to a sold out show at Wembley in London. And guess what the prices of those tickets were...

Approximately 75, which is around Rs 6,600.
