Car bomb targets NGO in Kabul, terrorists break into building

According to media reports, two militants attacked a NGO -- CARE -- in Kabul and have now holed up in the building. According to the CID chief, Three people were in the building at the time of the attack. One has been rescued, while the other two are still in the building. 

The attack started off with a heavy explosion, thought to have been a car bomb, followed by sporadic gun fire. 

THe CID chief was quoted as saying that one of the militants had been killed while the second remained engaged in gun fire with security forces. 

Earlier on Monday, at least 24 people were killed when two Taliban suicide bombers on foot struck close to the defence ministry in Kabul.
