Modi takes up issue of killing of Indian-origin bus driver with Aus PM

PM Narendra Modi telephoned Malcolm Turnbull, the Prime Minister of Australia today to wish him Diwali greetings.

PM Modi also conveyed a sense of concern being felt in India over recent brutal killing of Manmeet Alisher, a person of Indian origin.

On Friday, Alisher was burnt to death when a man poured some flammable liquid on him in front of several shocked passengers in Australias Brisbane city.

Alisher died on the spot while several passengers on board the bus at the time managed to escape through the rear door, said police in Brisbane.

Police said there was no apparent motive including terror or race related.
