Odisha health minister quits in wake of hospital fire tragedy

Odisha Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak has given his resignation to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the wake of Sum Hospital fire tragedy.

His resignation came hours after the toll in the fire tragedy mounted to 25 and its founder Manoj Nayak was taken on remand by the police.

Meanwhile, the Odisha government 'de-empanelled' the Institute of Medical Sciences and Sum Hospital from the list of favoured medical facilities which provide free treatment to poor patients in the state.
