Govt charts out plan for Union Budget

The Union Finance Ministry has drawn up a calendar for the Union Budget 2017. The first meeting will be held on November 2 with business and industrial houses and will commence at the CBDT, CBEC level. This series of meetings will end by the time Parliament convenes for the Winter Session on November 26. The Secretaries of Revenue and Expenditure are busy finalising the possible dates of meeetings with Indian Inc leaders, agriculturists, bankers and infrastructure companies. The Union government is keen to present the Budget on February 1, 2017 so that the GST can be rolled out by April 1, 2017.
