35 school buildings set ablaze in Kashmir: Govt

As many as 35 school buildings were set ablaze and 11 others damaged in Kashmir Valley in the last four months, Rajya Sabha was informed today.

"Thirty-five school buildings were set ablaze and 11 school buildings were damaged in Kashmir Valley since July 8 till November 11, 2016," Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir said in reply to a written question.

As many as 24 persons, identified for being involved in setting the school buildings afire, have already been arrested, he said.
