Amid the backlash the government has been receiving from the Opposition in the wake of demonetisation, PM Narendra Modi welcomed an MP from the Congress at his office today.

Tongues haven't begun wagging because the PM has cut across party lines and lauded Congress MP  Shashi Tharoor earlier too, but it is Tharoor's warm response tweeted a while ago, that just might earn him a rap on the knuckles from his party. PM Modi tweeted a picture holding up with Tharoor's soon-to-be released book, An era of Darkness,   with this post: "Lok Sabha MP Dr. @ShashiTharoor called on the Prime Minister and presented a copy of his book to the PM."

Tharoor responded tweeting, "Honoured by @narendramodi ji's interest in the issues raised in #AnEraOfDarkness. Pleased that Pradhan Mantri is the book's Pradhan Pathak!"
