Senior correspondent R Rajagopal who travelled with President Pranab Mukherjee to China last week writes that Omita Paul, the Secretary to President Pranab Mukherjee found Chinese hospitality remarkable. Paul was particularly impressed by the band of the People's Liberation Army of China's renditions of popular Hindi songs like Gore Gore, Roja Janeman, Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo and Baar Baar Dekho. Chinese themes like Nostalgia, Elm Forest, Under the silver moonlight, were also played. The Conductor of the band -- Zhao Chuanze -- received long and sustained applause from the entire Indian delegation attending the banquet with desks being thumped as well. Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo was a particular favourite with the delegation.
