EC cancels polls to two Tamil Nadu assembly seats

The Election Commission has cancelled polls to two Tamil Nadu assembly seats, saying money power has vitiated electoral process.

The Election Commission had deferred assembly polls of to two Tamil Nadu constituencies, Aravakurichi and Thanjavur, citing evidence of use of money power.

The EC had issued notifications to postpone the elections to the two constituencies from May 16 to May 23 following evidence that large-scale money changed hands to influence voters.
