West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party president Dilip Ghosh said on Saturday called female students of Jadavpur University 'shameless' for participating in a protest against screening of a film. A few girl students have filed molestation complaints against members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, BJP's student wing.

"If women are so concerned about their safety, why do they shamelessly participate in every protest," Ghosh was quoted as saying by ANI.

Ghosh also termed the allegations against ABVP members 'baseless' while questioning the 'character' of female students who were allegedly molested.

On Monday too, during a counter-rally organised by the supporters of ABVP, the wing secretary had threatened to chop off students' legs if they dared to step out of the university.
