What the Indian Left could learn from the former president of Brazil

In his blog piece for Rediff.com, M K Bhadrakumar writes about the national and international reaction to the police taking in former Brazilian president Lula Da Silva in for questioning on graft charges. 

Praising Da Silva's term he points out what the Indian Left could learn from the Brazilian leader. 

"From the Indian perspective, the intriguing question is how a left party like Partido dos Trabalhadores (Workers Party), which Lulu led, could storm the citadel of power in a bourgeois democracy and, more importantly, keep winning four times in a row? What was Lula's magic formula?" he writes.
