Babulal Gaur resigns from the post of Madhya Pradesh home minister

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur, 86, and Public Works Department minister Sartaj Singh, 76, resigned from his post on Wednesday.

According to reports, with the elderly ministers resignation, the portfolios of six others are likely to be changed, they said.

The cabinet expansion-cum-reshuffle is scheduled on Thursday evening. It is the first such exercise since Chouhan took office in December 2013 for his third successive term as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister.

The expansion was expected in 2014 and 2015, but it did not happen.

As per the Constitutional provision, 11 more ministers can be appointed.
