Women's Commission summons Salman on June 29

The Maharashtra State Commission for Women summons Salman Khan over his 'rape' remark on June 29 at 2 pm.

Taking suo moto cognisance of Salman Khan's comment that he felt like a "raped woman" while playing a wrestler in his upcoming film 'Sultan', National Commission for Women chief Lalitha Kumaramangalam today sought a public apology from the Bollywood actor and asked for an explanation. Dubbing Salman's comment as 'irresponsible and careless', Kumaramangalam told ANI that the actor would be summoned if his explanation is unsatisfactory

The Shiv Sena today urged directors respecting women to boycott the Bollywood super star till he tenders an "unconditional apology" for his comment.

"I have not seen a celebrity who can get more shameless than Salman Khan. He has a destructive nature from the beginning. He shoots endangered animals, kills people living on footpaths and now this (remark on rape). People still, ironically, consider him a hero," Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande told PTI.

Salman had landed himself in a controversy for his remark that he felt like a "raped woman" after one gruelling shoot for his upcoming wrestling-themed film "Sultan", sparking demands for an apology from the actor.
