Western Railway's local train services in Mumbai were hit on Monday after a technical glitch forced trains from Churchgate to a halt.

In a series of tweets, Western Railway said: "Due to power not holding at DDR (Dadar), there is no train from Churchgate as of now for a while. Efforts on for early restoration."

"It is found that problem has occurred due to theft of battery Box at Mahim Electricity Sub Station. Efforts on in full swing for early restoration."

"Technical glitch in OHE Circuit, problem likely to be rectified in next 15 minutes after which services will resume regularly."

Trains are being reversed from Dadar.

All trains originating from Borivili will reverse from Andheri.

No Western Railway trains to Churchgate will go beyond Bandra.
