Udta set to fly, Punjab and Haryana HC clears film

Just in: And the final, if small, hurdle for Udta Punjab. The Punjab and Haryana high court dismiss the plea against the film and give the go ahead for tomorrow's release. The court says the film has not been shown in a bad light.

Just ahead of this order, the Supreme Court refused to stay the release of the film allowing the petitioner to approach the Punjab and Haryana HC where the petition is pending

The court today heard a plea by Punjab-based NGO Human Rights Awareness Association to halt the screening of the film Udta Punjab, which focuses on the widespread drug menace in the agrarian State.
