A terrorist and a woman were killed after a Central Reserve Police Force camp came under attack on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Kud area of Udhampur district, police said.

The camp, located about 170 km from Jammu, came under attack from terrorists, believed to be more than one in number, who were travelling in a State Road Transport Corporation bus which was stopped for checking by a joint party of the CRPF and J&K police.

The bus has been stopped by the security forces and a search is on.

One militant has been eliminated even though the search operation is on, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana said.

Three people injured in the attack were admitted to hospital. Out of them, one woman succumbed to injuries.

We think only one militant was involved in the attack, Rana said, adding if a second militant is also involved in the attack, he too would be eliminated shortly.

The area has been cordoned off and a search is on.
