Nitish, Mamata spoke to Ajit Jogi after he formed party: Aide

Leaders like Nitish Kumar and Mamata Banerjee had congratulated former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi after he floated a new political party quitting the Congress, his associate said on Thursday.
'Leaders from different states have congratulated Jogi over phone after he announced on June 6 that he would form anew party,' Jogi's political secretary Ashok Sharma said in a statement.
These leaders included Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad, and Yuvajana, Shramika, Rythu Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said.
They hoped that with the formation of a regional party, importance of Chhattisgarh at the national level will increase, Sharma said.
