Just in: The Producers of Udta Punjab move the Bombay High Court to seek an 'A' certificate for the film and other relief. Filmmakers Vikas Bahl and Anurag Kashyap move court against the CBFC's 89 cuts. The hearing is scheduled to take place at 3 pm today.

Anurag Kashyap, one of the most vocal celebrities, who's production house Phantom films along with Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Posters produced the Shahid Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer film conducted a small press conference last night with the media after being enraged with CB's decision.

This morning, Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani, described as a "dictator" by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, said the 89 cuts imposed on Udta Punjab "have nothing to do with the Punjab elections." Kashyap's many allegations against him were baseless, he said.

Nihalani contended that the film shows 70% of the people in the state consume drugs and said the movie puts entire state of Punjab in a bad light. "Nearly 98% of the movie is in Punjabi and based entirely in Punjab. It is not a Hindi film at all," he said defending the cuts issued for the Kareena Kapoor-Shahid Kapoor starrer.
