CM Mehbooba Mufti appeals for peace in video message to Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has released video message appealing to people in the state to maintain and restrain peace.

In the video, the CM appeals everyone to help the government bring back normalcy to the state. "I appeal everyone to help the Govt to bring back peace and normalcy in the state," Mehbooba says in the video.

"When I got news that Burhan Wani has been killed in an encounter, I ordered curfew anticipating protests, so that no life is lost," she added.

"Security personnel were told to act calmly. Sad, despite taking all measures, lives were lost during protest," she stated.

"Incidents where security personnel have acted harshly and have used excess force, will be investigated," the CM added.
