First reactions from controversial preacher Zakir Naik after the Dhaka attacks. Two of the seven terrorists who hacked to death 20 people at a Dhaka cafe on Friday had said they were inspired by Naik. The government has said that, "we don't ban individuals, we ban organisations," but today Venkaiah Naidu said said his speeches were excellent hinting that he may be banned.

Naik said that he was not shocked to learn that the Bangla terrorists were inspired by him. "More than 90 per cent Bangladeshis know me, more than 50 per cent are my fans. But every fan of mine may not follow everything I say.

"Terrorists may have been misguided by others to kill innocents. Indian media saying that I'm encouraging terrorism is devilish. I disagree that I inspired people to kill. I'm totally against terrorism and I don't condone killing innocents," he said.

Naik has said on the 9/11 attacks: It is a blatant, open secret that this attack on the Twin Towers was done by George Bush himself... Even a fool will know that the 9/11 attacks were an inside job.

And on terror mastermind Osama bin Laden, Naik had this to day, "If he is fighting enemies of Islam, I am for him. I dont know him personally. If he is terrorising America, the biggest terrorist, I am with him. Every Muslim should be a terrorist. The thing is that if he is terrorising a terrorist, he is following Islam."
