Bangladesh under attack again; 2 dead at Eid congregation blast

Two people, including a policemen, have been killed and five injured in an explosion near the entrance of Bangladesh's largest Eid congregation in Kishoreganj.

The incident, that happened within a week of the Gulshan restaurant attack, took place around 9:45 am this morning at the Sholakia field of Kishoreganj where hundreds of thousands gather each year for Eid congregation.

Bangladeshi media reports that police is now trading gunfire with the attackers.

Bangladesh Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said the attack is a political move and has no Islamic agenda. He also confirmed that the attack was aimed at the police convoy which was guarding the Eid congregation.
