'North Korea working on submarine-launched ballistic missiles'

Former American defence secretary Robert Gates believes that North Korea is 'perilously close to obtaining submarine-launched missile technology, or SLBMs, reports the news agency UPI.   

In a discussion at the Council of Foreign Relations in New York on Thursday, Gates, Pyongyang, which announced that it had tested a hydrogen bomb on January 6, was 'working on submarine-launched ballistic missiles and that capability. And, you know, they have these successive failures, but eventually they're going to get it right. And that's going to be a very dangerous situation,'   

Terming North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un as "dangerous and stupid', Gates said with 'each successive generation [of Kims] we've been swimming in a shallower and shallower part of the gene pool.'
