Want freedom from all forces destroying the nation: Yechury

A day after HRD Smriti Irani ripped into the Opposition on the Rohith Vemula and JNU issue, CPI-M's Sitaram Yechury in the Rajya Sabha got a chance to respond. Speaking, the CPI-M member said that it was his humble request that the nation get rid of the sedition law that was being used to arrest our students.

Yechury also said, "We want freedom from casteism, from poverty and you can arrest me if you want."

He added that what the government did in JNU was partisan intervention.
