Minor blast at BJP leader's home in Imphal

A medium intensity bomb exploded at the gate of the residence of AIR Imphal's former joint director, BB Sharma, last night.

The blast, which did not cause any casualty, took place at the Imphal locality of Uripok Yambem Leikai at around 7:30 pm, a senior police officer said.

A team of Manipur police, led by the Imphal West superintendent of police, visited the site to conduct further probe. The reason for the attack is not known and no outfit has claimed responsibility so far.

Sharma had served as the joint director of the Regional News Unit of All India Radio, Imphal, before he retired and joined the BJP.
