New army chief walks in his father's footsteps

On January 1 when General Bipin Rawat walks into the wood-paneled office of the Army Chief in the South Block office overlooking Rajpath where photographs of former chiefs hang in sequence, he would be walking a path that his father too was very familiar with. General Rawat's father General Lakshman Singh Rawat (retd) hung his boots as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff in 1988.
