New IB, R&AW chiefs are experts on Kashmir and Balochistan

The government on Saturday appointed new chiefs to the Research and Analysis Wing and the Intelligence Bureau. 

Anil Kumar Dhasmana an expert on Balochistan will take charge as the R&AW chief on January 30. The 1981 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IPS officer is an expert on Balochistan, counter terrorism and Islamic affairs. His appoint comes at a time when the Union Government has raised the issue of Balochistan to counter the narrative by Pakistan.

Rajiv Jain, who was named as the new chief of the Intelligence Bureau, is a Jharkhand cadre IPS officer. Jain is an expert on Kashmir affairs. He is currently serving as the Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau and will take over from Dineshwar Sharma on January 1.
