Massive traffic jams in Delhi and Gurgaon after unusually heavy rain this morning. The Gurgaon police have advised "patience and discipline" as traffic slowed down and reports of waerlogging, and poor visibility increased problems of commuters.

Gurgaon police also issued traffic advisory on Twitter requesting people maintain lane discipline to avoid further jams.

"Heavy rains in Gurgaon, please be advised. Be patient and maintain lane discipline, we are on the job to facilitate your movement," the tweet from the Gurgaon police read.

Many commuters feared a repeat of last month's flooding on National Highway-8 that left thousands of commuters stranded. On Monday, US secretary of state John Kerry for stuck in a 2-hour traffic jam on the way from the airport to his hotel.

"Rain or no rain... Delhi to Gurgaon roads are always jammed," Priyanka Thakkar tweeted.
