Delhi goes dark as torrential rains pound city this morning

Commuters in Delhi and Gurugram had a hard time as vehicular traffic crawled on waterlogged roads after the city received heavy rainfall this morning. Heavy traffic was reported on almost all major carriageways in Gururam. The weatherman has predicted a cloudy day today with possibility of thunderstorm and heavy rains towards the evening.

The Delhi traffic police tweeted traffic advisory on the roads to avoid. "Water logging under Modi Mill Flyover, Sadik Nagar, BRT to Moolchand, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Nehru Place to Zamrudpur. Water logging at Alipur Village, Okhla Underpass, Jasola Red Light,Saket M.B. Road, Saket Metro Station, Lado Sarai T-Point. PTS Red Light."

Visibility has been reduced to a few metres with police urging people to abide by lane discipline.
