Hooch tragedy: Strict action will be taken against people, says Nitish Kumar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has asked top officials to identify and arrest the culprits for the deaths of 16 people in Gopalganj district.

Contrary to excise and prohibition department officials who refuted hooch as the cause of death for 16 people in Bihar's Gopalganj district, CM Nitish Kumar on Thursday did not rule out suspected consumption of spurious liquor behind the incident.

Nitish Kumar said the government is waiting for all the reports in connection to the incident and will take tough action against those found culprits as per provisions of the new excise law.

So far,it is not clear what exactly caused deaths in Gopalganj. If it is due to consumption of spurious liquor as reported ,culprits will not be spared.The culprits will be punish as per the new excise law, Nitish Kumar said.
