UP infant's death: Akhilesh orders removal of chief medical superintendent

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday ordered removal of the Chief Medical Superintendent of the government hospital in Bahraich where an infant died allegedly after he was not given timely treatment by the staff as his parents could not pay the bribe demanded by them.

The chief minister has directed to remove the chief medical superintendent of the hospital, an official spokesman said in Lucknow.

He said that Yadav has said that his government was committed to provide better medical facilities to the people, and stern action will be taken against insensitive doctors ignoring the patients.
