Anandiben, Najma, Shankaramurthy likely to get governorships of Punjab, Mizoram, TN

The Modi government is set to announce three new governors for soon after Parliament session is over. 

Anandiben Patel, Najma Heptulla and D H Shankaramurthy are being tipped for the governorship of Punjab, Mizoram and Tamil Nadu respectively. 

Veteran BJP leader and legislative council Chairperson D H Shankaramurthy is likely to be appointed as the governor of Tamil Nadu. If so, Shankaramurthy will be replacing incumbent K Rosaiah, whose term ends on August 31. 

Shankaramurthy has previously served as minister of higher education and leader of the Opposition in the state's legislative council. 

Anandiben Patel, who recently quit as the chief minister of Gujarat, is likely to be made governor of Punjab, while Najma Heptulla, who was the minister for minority affairs until July this year, is likely to get the governorship of Mizoram.
