20% water cut for breweries, 10% for industries in Aurangabad

Facing a terrible drought, the collector of Aurangabad just announced a 20 per cent water cut for breweries and 10 per cent for industries in the area. The move comes after the high court ruled that IPL matches to be played in the state be moved out.

As many as 3,228 farmers committed suicide in Maharashtra in 2015, the highest since 2001, according to data tabled in the Rajya Sabha on March 4, 2016that is almost nine farmers every day. Vidarbha and Marathwada, with 5.7 million farmers, accounted for 83 per cent of all farmer suicides in Maharashtra in 2015.
