Prime Minister Narendra Modi who took stock of the Kollam temple inferno in Kerala today, has sought for a detailed report from the state administration as to how the fire broke out and caused damage to life and property on such a large scale, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda said.

Speaking to the media after visiting the patients at the hospital in Trivandrum, Nadda expressed satisfaction at the level of treatment and attention being given to the patients.

"I visited the hospital in Kollam today where 25 patients were there and 50 causalities have taken place there only. Prime Minister Modi also visited that hospital. We are satisfied with the treatment being given at that hospital. Along with it, I also visited the Travancore Medicity where approximately 84 patients have been brought, out of which 46 are being treated, in which 15 to 17 are in a critical condition in the ICU," Nadda said.
