Centre will give promised Rs 1.25 lakh crore Bihar package: Rajnath

Just in: As the Grand Alliance secures majority in the Bihar Assembly with the Nitish Kumar-led Mahagathbandhan trumping the Narendra Modi-led BJP alliance, the Centre says it will abide by its commitment to Bihar. Home Minister Rajnath Singh says the Centre is committed to provide the Rs 1.25 lakh crore economic package announced by the PM.


At a rally in Arrah in the state, the PM said, "I am here today to honour my promise... how much do you want? Rs. 50,000 crore, 60,000, 70,000, 75,000, 80,000? I am announcing a package of Rs. 1.25 lakh crore," PM Modi said to thunderous applause. He was later criticised by chief minister Nitish Kumar who said, "was he bidding for Bihar?"
