Sinha, who has been nicknamed Bihari Babu and is the MP from Patna Sahib had not been invited by the BJP to campaign in Bihar. He said last month that it was "not by choice'. "My party workers, friends, supporters and well-wishers, wonder why I am not seen on campaign trail'.I assure them it is not by choice,' he had said in a series of tweets three days ahead of third phase of Assembly polls.


Sinha has become an almost-open rebel by meeting with Nitish Kumar on same evening of the day prime minister Narendra Modi strongly attacked the Bihar chief minister in July. If Modi attacked the chief minister's performance in Bihar, Shatrughan Sinha praised it. If Modi attacked the chief minister personally, even questioning his DNA, Sinha said such bitterness could have been avoided.
