Bihar verdict 'personal' defeat for PM Modi: Owaisi

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA's loss in Bihar was a 'personal defeat' for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"The most important point in this election is that this is a personal defeat for Narendra Modi. Never in independent India's history, have we seen a sitting Prime Minister getting so involved and addressing more than 35 public meetings," Owaisi said today.

Owaisi thanked the people of the Seemanchal region of Bihar who voted for his party candidates. "I would like to reassure the people of Seemanchal that we have talked about the development of the region and that will continue," he added.

He added that his party has made an entry in Bihar and will try to strengthen itself in the state. "Hopefully, in the next five years, when elections will be held, we will definitely be in a stronger position not only to gain more confidence of people of Seemanchal, but to also ensure that our candidates win," he said.
