Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed grief on the demise of US mathematician John Nash and his wife Alicia, who died in a car crash in New Jersey.
Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter to share his thoughts."An intellectual powerhouse with a long lasting contribution to mathematics, John Nash will be remembered forever. RIP Alicia and John Nash," he said.
According to reports, 86-year-old Nash and his 82-year-old wife were killed when their taxi crashed.
The mathematician, who is well-known for his work in game theory, had won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1994. His breakthroughs in maths - and his struggles with schizophrenia - were the focus of the 2001 film 'A Beautiful Mind'.
