Delhi LG meets Home Minister as battle with Kejriwal continues

Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and informed him about his stand-off with the AAP government on appointment of acting Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin.

'During the 15-minute meeting, Jung told the Home Minister the circumstances leading to the appointment of Gamlin, a senior IAS officer, as acting Delhi Chief Secretary and the process followed in doing that, official sources said.

The Home Minister is expected to meet President Pranab Mukherjee tomorrow, a day after Jung and Kejriwal's meeting with Mukherjee. Delhi government comes under the administrative control of the Home Ministry.

The Home Ministry is of the opinion that the LG as well as the Chief Minister should discharge their duties following rules and as per Constitution.
