Petroleum ministry leaks case: Six get bail

Delhi court grants bail to six accused, including four corporate executives, arrested in Petroleum Ministry documents leak case. Bail was granted on Rs 50,000 personal bonds to the six accused.


Among the 13 chargesheeted accused are five corporate executives Shailesh Saxena from RIL, Vinay Kumar from Essar, KK Naik from Cairns India, Subhash Chandra from Jubilant Energy and Rishi Anand from Reliance ADAG.


The other accused are Ishwar Singh, Asharam, Lalta Prasad and  Rakesh Kumar, who were working as multi-tasking staff in the ministry; defence ministry staffer Virender Kumar; Rajkumar Chaubey (a private person); energy consultant Prayas Jain and journalist Shantanu Saikia.



In a case reminiscent of the spy scandal in the mid 80s, some journalists who claimed to be independent energy consultants, and employees of certain petro companies were also said to have been detained for questioning in the development that has set off sensation in political and corporate circles.
