Manmohan moves SC against coal scam summons

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday moved the Supreme Court to challenge a trial court's decision to summon him as an accused in the alleged irregular allotment of Talabira-II coal block to a joint venture of Hindalco.
Manmohan Singh, industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, ex-coal secretary P C Parakh and three others were summoned recently as accused by a special court in a coal scam case pertaining to allocation of Talabira-II coal block in Odisha in 2005 and asked to appear before it on April 8.
